Eligibility Details
- Educational Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing with minimum 50% marks, OR GNM (A Grade Nursing Diploma) with minimum 50% marks, from a recognized institution.
- Only female candidates are eligible to apply.
- Candidate must be a Bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh.
- Candidate must be registered with the Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council (HPNRC), Shimla.
- Candidate should have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from a school situated within Himachal Pradesh (this condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis).
- Reservation benefit is available only on a parental basis, as per the Reservation Policy of the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Reserved category candidates from other states will be treated as General (UR).
Assistant Staff Nurse: Salary Details
This is an engagement-basis appointment for a fixed period of 5 years, not a regular government post. Selected candidates will get a fixed monthly consolidated honorarium of ₹25,000/- and will have no right to regularization against any sanctioned Staff Nurse post in Himachal Pradesh.

Assistant Staff Nurse Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
Selection for the post of Assistant Staff Nurse will be done in two stages: a Computer-Based Test (CBT) / OMR-based Written Screening Test, followed by Document Verification.

If the number of candidates who clear the minimum percentage is less than the number of posts, the Aayog may relax the qualifying percentage by up to 5% (i.e. up to 40% for General and 35% for Reserved categories), with reasons recorded in writing.
Normalization (For Multiple Shifts)
If the exam is held in multiple shifts, scores will be normalized using the Z-Score (Mean and Standard Deviation) Method to keep the process fair across shifts.
Merit & Waiting List
- Final selection is based on Merit-cum-Option-cum-Availability of Post.
- A category-wise waiting list (panel) will be prepared.
- The waiting list stays valid for one year from the date HPRCA sends recommendations to the appointing authority.
Other Important Points
- Only online applications will be accepted; no offline application is allowed.
- One Time Registration (OTR) on the HPRCA portal is mandatory before filling the online application.
- Only one application per post is allowed; multiple applications for the same post will be rejected.
- No physical admit card will be sent by post; candidates must download it from the HPRCA website.
- Original certificates with self-attested photocopies must be produced at the time of document verification.
