SI, Police Constable & Other Posts Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
The selection process varies depending on the post applied for. The complete stage-wise selection procedure is given below:
Stage 1: Preliminary Written Test (PWT)
Applicable For:
- Sub-Inspector (SI) Civil
- Police Constable (PC) Civil
Not Applicable For:
- Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) – Fingerprint Bureau (FPB)
- Special Category Police Constable (SCT PC) – Driver
- Special Category Police Constable (SCT PC) – Mechanics

Stage 2: Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Written Test (PWT), or those applying for technical posts where PWT is not applicable, must undergo the Physical Measurement Test (PMT).
Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who qualify the PMT must appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The PET includes running, long jump, and shot put events as prescribed in the official notification.
Stage 4: Trade / Driving Test (Technical Posts Only)
