• Extra age relaxation is given to Divyang and Ex-servicemen candidates as per rules

Exam Details

Exam Name: Bihar BSEB STET 2026

Bihar STET is an eligibility exam, not a vacancy-based recruitment. It is held for Paper-I (Secondary, Classes 9-10) and Paper-II (Higher Secondary, Classes 11-12). Passing STET only makes a candidate eligible to apply in a later, separate teacher recruitment process.

Paper I	Classes 9-10	Graduation with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject, along with B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution (45% marks + B.Ed under relaxed norms)
Paper II	Classes 11-12	Post-graduation with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject, along with B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution (45% + B.Ed, or 55% + integrated B.Ed-M.Ed under relaxed norms)

Paper I (Secondary, Classes 9-10)

English	Bachelor’s degree in English with 50% marks and B.Ed
Mathematics	Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with B.Ed, or B.Tech in Mathematics with B.Ed
Science	Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Zoology or Chemistry with 50% marks and B.Ed, or B.Tech in Science with B.Ed
Social Science	Graduation with any two subjects from History, Geography, Economics or Political Science (History or Geography compulsory), 50% marks and B.Ed
Physical Education	Bachelor’s degree with Physical Education as an optional subject (50% marks), plus a one-year B.P.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution
Music	Graduate degree in Music Education or its equivalent, with 50% marks
Fine Arts	Graduate degree in Fine Arts or its equivalent, with 50% marks
Dance	Graduate degree in Dance Education or its equivalent, with 50% marks
Special School Teacher	Graduate degree with 50% marks, plus B.Ed in Special Education from an RCI-recognized institution with a valid CRR number

Paper II (Higher Secondary, Classes 11-12)

Music	Post-graduate degree in Music Education or its equivalent, with 50% marks
Computer Science	B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or IT, or M.Sc (Computer Science)/MCA, or B.Sc (Computer Science)/BCA with a postgraduate degree, or DOEACC ‘A’ Level with a postgraduate degree

Candidates should check the exact clause for their subject in the official notification, as some subjects have detailed qualification norms listed separately (Parishisht-1 for Paper I and Parishisht-2 for Paper II).
