ASI Stenographer & HC Ministerial 2024: Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
BSF is selecting candidates for this recruitment through the multi-stage process below:
Phase 1: Computer Based Written Exam
- An objective, bilingual (Hindi & English) computer-based test covering Hindi/English Language, General Intelligence, Numerical Aptitude, Clerical Aptitude, and Basic Computer Knowledge.
- Minimum qualifying marks are 35% for General/EWS candidates and 33% for OBC, SC and ST candidates.
Phase 2: Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who clear the written exam are screened on height and chest (chest measurement applies to male candidates only), followed by a physical efficiency run.
Phase 3: Skill Test, Document Verification & Medical Exam
- ASI (Steno) candidates take a stenography speed test, transcribing dictation on a computer within 50 minutes for English or 65 minutes for Hindi.
- HC (Ministerial) candidates take a typing speed test on a computer, transcribing a passage within 10 minutes.
- Candidates who clear the skill test then go through document verification and a detailed medical examination (DME) before final selection.
