How UPPSC Counts Your Marks
UPPSC holds a separate written exam for each post. It adds both paper scores for Assistant Architect Planner and Sports Officer. For Programmer Grade-2, it uses the single objective paper score. Eligible Chief Minister Fellowship scholars receive 1.5, 3 or 4.5 extra marks for 1, 2 or 3 completed years.
In objective papers, UPPSC deducts one-third of the marks assigned to a question for a wrong answer or if you mark more than one option. It makes no deduction for a blank answer. SC and ST candidates need at least 35% for consideration on the merit list. Other candidates need at least 40%.
