HPRCA Clerk (Job Trainee): Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
Selection for the post of Clerk (Job Trainee) will be done through a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a qualifying Skill (Typing) Test.
1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Total Marks: 120
- Duration: 1.5 Hours
- Question Type: 120 Multiple Choice Questions (1 mark each)
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 45% for General, 40% for SC/ST/OBC/BPL/EWS/Wards of Freedom Fighters (relaxable up to 5% by the Aayog if required)
- If CBT is conducted in multiple shifts, scores will be normalized using the Z-Score Method.
2. Syllabus for Screening Test
- Part (i): Subjects up to the level of the prescribed essential qualification (Bachelor’s level).
- Part (ii): General Knowledge (including HP GK and Current Affairs), Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English and General Hindi (Matric Standard), and Word Processing on computer.
3. Skill Test (Typing Test)
- Nature: Qualifying Only
- Since 40 posts are advertised (between 30 and 40), 150 candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test based on merit in the Screening Test.
4. Final Selection
Final selection will be based on merit in the CBT/Screening Test, subject to qualifying the Skill Test and document verification. A category-wise waiting list (panel) valid for one year will also be prepared.
