MRPL Assistant Engineer (GATE 2026): Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
MRPL does not conduct any separate written exam of its own. Selection is fully based on GATE-2026 score, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Selection Stages
- Candidates are first shortlisted on the basis of their GATE-2026 marks (out of 100).
- Shortlisted candidates are called for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) in 1:5 ratio (5 candidates per post), category-wise.
- Tie-Breaking Rule: If two or more candidates get equal GATE marks, the one with higher marks in their qualifying degree (BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engg) is preferred.
- Final merit list is prepared as per MRPL’s prevailing selection rules.
Travel Reimbursement for GD/PI
Candidates called for GD/PI get travel fare reimbursed (3AC train fare or AC bus fare, whichever is admissible) from their correspondence address or actual travel point, whichever is shorter. PwBD candidates also get reimbursement for one accompanying attendant.
