UPSC Civil Services 2026: Salary Details
Selected candidates get Pay Level 10 of the 7th Pay Commission. The starting basic pay is Rs. 56,100/- per month. With DA, HRA and TA added, the gross monthly salary comes to around Rs. 85,000/- to Rs. 95,000/-.

UPSC Civil Services 2026: Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Paper I – General Studies: 200 Marks, 2 Hours
- Paper II – CSAT: 200 Marks, 2 Hours (Qualifying, minimum 33%)
- 1/3rd mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
Main Examination (Written)
The Main Exam has 9 papers. Two papers are qualifying in nature and their marks are not added to the merit list.
