Southern Railway will select Act Apprentices purely on academic and technical merit. There is no written exam and no interview for this recruitment.
Merit List Formula
- Fresher Category (Fitter, Painter, Welder): Marks obtained in 10th Standard, converted out of 200 (minimum 50% aggregate required).
- MLT Category: Marks obtained in 12th Standard with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, converted out of 200 (minimum 50% aggregate in Matriculation required).
- Ex-ITI Category: 10th marks converted out of 100 + ITI marks converted out of 100, totaling 200 marks (minimum 50% aggregate in Matriculation required).
Tie-Breaker Rule
- If two candidates have the same merit score, the older candidate (by date of birth) gets preference.
- If dates of birth also match, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier is selected.
