Eligibility Details
- Educational Qualification: MBBS Degree
- Registration: Must be registered with the Punjab Medical Council, or with any duly constituted Medical Council in India
- Language: Knowledge of Punjabi language up to Matriculation standard or its equivalent. Candidates who do not have this qualification must acquire it within six months of joining, failing which their services will be terminated

BFUHS Medical Officer (General) Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
Selection for Medical Officer (General) is based on a written examination conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, followed by document checks:
- Mode of Selection: Written Examination
- Qualifying Marks: Minimum 33% marks required to be declared eligible
- Selection Basis: Inter-se-merit of the written test, subject to reservation rules
Important Selection Rules
- Merely qualifying the written examination does not guarantee appointment
- Candidates must produce a Police Verification Certificate and clearance of any pending criminal charges
- Government employees must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Head of Department confirming there are no pending disciplinary proceedings
- In case of equal marks, preference will be given as per Punjab Personnel Department Letter No. PERS-PP-108/9/2025-3PP1-210 dated 26/06/2026
- No extra weightage is given for higher qualifications
