Eligibility Details
- D.Pharm or B.Pharm from a recognised university.
- 6 months practical training/experience in drug testing and analysis is compulsory for all candidates.
- Reservation benefits are available only to native residents of Bihar state; candidates from outside Bihar are not eligible for reservation.
- Transgender candidates get the same reservation benefit as backward classes.

Selected candidates will be placed at Pay Level-5 of the state pay matrix.

Technician (Bench Chemist) Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
Selection is based on a Written Competitive Examination and Work Experience marks, totalling 100 marks.

The syllabus will be based on the subject prescribed by the Health Department and will be published separately on the Commission’s website. If the exam is held in multiple shifts, normalization will be applied while preparing results.

Candidates residing outside Bihar, including women and PWD candidates, must clear the General category qualifying marks of 40%.
Work experience marks
- Only candidates who qualify the written exam are eligible for work experience marks.
- Marks are given for satisfactory service in an equivalent post at a non-private laboratory under Bihar state, on a contract basis, up to a maximum of 25 marks (5 marks per year).
- Work experience will be counted till 24/07/2026, and the experience certificate must be in the prescribed format.
Document verification
- Candidates shortlisted as per the category-wise merit list will be called for document verification.
- Only documents uploaded with the online application will be verified; no new documents are accepted at this stage.
- Candidates must carry original documents; blurred or unclear uploaded documents can lead to cancellation of candidature.
