NFR Railway Act Apprentice Selection Procedure
NFR will select candidates purely on academic merit. There is no written examination for this apprenticeship engagement.
How the Merit List is Prepared
- For most trades, merit is decided using the average of marks scored in Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate) and in the ITI course of the relevant trade.
- For Laboratory Technician trades, merit is decided using the average of marks scored in Matriculation (minimum 50%) and in 12th Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
Tie-Breaking Rule
- If two candidates score equal marks, the older candidate gets a higher rank.
- If their date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be ranked higher.
Final Selection Steps
- Candidates are shortlisted for Document Verification (DV) in a ratio of about 1.5 times the number of available slots.
- Shortlisted candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate signed by a government-authorized doctor.
