Exam Type: Teacher Eligibility Test
HP TET is a qualifying examination for candidates who want to become teachers in Himachal Pradesh. It does not offer direct job posts, so no vacancy number is given in the prospectus. - B.A. / B.Com or a suitable Post Graduation degree with 50% marks and a 1-year or 2-year B.Ed.; or
- Post Graduation with 55% marks and a 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.; or
- 10+2 with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed. / B.A.Ed. / B.A.B.Ed.; or
- B.A. / B.Com with 50% marks and B.Ed. Special Education. Candidates pursuing B.Ed. with the required graduation marks may also apply.
TGT (Non-Medical) TET
Any Of The Following Options
- B.Sc. Non-Medical or relevant M.Sc. with 50% marks and B.Ed.; or

Junior Basic Training (JBT) TET
Any Of The Following Options
- 10+2 with 50% marks and 2-year JBT / D.El.Ed. from an HPBOSE-affiliated institute; or
- 10+2 with 45% marks and 2-year JBT / D.El.Ed. under NCTE 2002 rules; or
- 10+2 with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed. or 2-year Diploma in Special Education; or
- Graduation with 2-year JBT / D.El.Ed.; or Post Graduation with 55% marks and 3-year B.Ed.-M.Ed. Eligible final-year candidates may also apply.
Punjabi Language Teacher TET
Any Of The Following Options
- B.A. with Punjabi as an elective subject and 2-year D.El.Ed.; or
- B.A. with Punjabi and 50% marks, plus B.Ed. or B.Ed. Special Education; or
- Giani and B.A. with 50% marks, plus B.Ed.; or M.A. Punjabi with 50% marks and B.Ed.
Urdu Language Teacher TET
Any Of The Following Options
- B.A. with Urdu as an elective subject and 2-year D.El.Ed.; or
- B.A. with Urdu and the required marks, plus B.Ed. or B.Ed. Special Education; or
- B.T. and B.A. with 50% marks, plus B.Ed.; or M.A. Urdu with 50% marks and B.Ed.
- Adeeb-Kamil from Jamia Urdu Aligarh is treated as B.A. Urdu. Moallim-e-Urdu is treated as B.Ed.
Special Educator TET (Pre-Primary to Class V)
Any Of The Following Options
- 10+2 with 50% marks or Graduation in any stream; and
- D.Ed. Special Education / D.El.Ed. from an RCI-approved institute with valid RCI and CRR registration; and
- Six-month cross-disability training.
Special Educator TET (Class VI to XII)
Any Of The Following Options
- Graduation in any stream with 50% marks; and
- B.Ed. Special Education or B.Ed. with an RCI-recognized qualification and valid RCI and CRR registration; and
- Six-month cross-disability training.
General Eligibility Relaxation
- SC, ST, OBC and PHH candidates of Himachal Pradesh get up to 5% relaxation in the required qualification and TET passing marks.
- The graduation percentage condition does not apply to candidates admitted to B.Ed. or B.El.Ed. before 29/07/2011.
- Final-year candidates of an NCTE or RCI-recognized teacher education course may apply.

What is the last date for HPBOSE HP TET November 2026?
Candidates can submit the form without a late fee up to 03 October 2026 at 11:59 PM. Applications are also accepted from 04 to 08 October 2026 with an extra late fee of ₹600.
When will HPBOSE conduct HP TET November 2026?
The subject-wise tests will be held on 22 November, 29 November and 06 December 2026. The exact date and shift depend on the paper selected by the candidate.
Is there any age limit for HPBOSE HP TET November 2026?
No upper age limit applies to this eligibility test. The appointing department will check the required age separately when a candidate applies for a teaching recruitment.
