Eligibility Details
UTET-I (Primary Level: Classes I to V):
- Required one of the following eligibility
- Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, as per NCTE Regulations, 2002.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.).
- Shiksha Mitra: Those who have passed the 2-year D.El.Ed. from IGNOU with state government permission.
- In-service Teachers: Regularly appointed teachers currently serving in primary schools.
- 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks at the graduation level for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.
UTET-II (Upper Primary Level: Classes VI to VIII):
- Required 1 of the following eligibility
- Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.).
- Graduation (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed./L.T./Shiksha Shastri).
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), according to NCTE norms.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. (Special Education).
- Graduation or Post-Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed.
- In-service Teachers: Regularly appointed teachers currently serving in upper primary schools.
- 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks at the graduation level for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.

Selection Process
The Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test (UTET) 2026 is only an eligibility (qualifying) examination. Qualifying UTET does not guarantee a government teaching job. Candidates who qualify become eligible to apply for teacher recruitment as per the recruitment rules and notifications issued by the Uttarakhand Government.
