Eligibility Details
- Only Indian nationals who are domicile of Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Leh, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand can apply.
- Graduate and Diploma candidates need a full-time regular 4-year Engineering degree or a 3-year Engineering diploma, in a relevant stream recognised by AICTE.
- ITI candidates need an ITI/NCVT certificate in a relevant trade from a recognised institute.
- Candidates must have passed their degree, diploma, or ITI course in 2024 or after 2024.
- Candidates who already finished an apprenticeship, are doing one somewhere else right now, or have 1 year or more of job experience cannot apply.

AAI Apprentice 2026-27: Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
Selection Process
- AAI first makes a merit list using the percentage of marks in the qualifying exam (Degree, Diploma, or ITI).
- If two candidates get equal marks, the older candidate by date of birth gets the higher rank. Date of passing is checked next, if still needed.
- Shortlisted candidates get an email for interview and document verification. AAI does not pay TA/DA for this interview.
- Selected candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Government Medical Officer at the time of joining.
- Final candidates sign an apprenticeship contract on the NATS/NAPS portal. The training period runs for 12 months.
