Selection Process

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

  • Mode: Objective Type (MCQs)
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 200
  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Subjects: General Knowledge & Current Affairs
  • Qualifying Marks: Minimum 30%
  • Negative Marking: 0.2 marks deducted for each wrong answer.

Candidates up to 20 times the total vacancies will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on merit.

Stage 2: Main Examination

The Main Exam consists of two papers.

Paper I – General Hindi

  • 100 Questions
  • 200 Marks
  • 2 Hours
  • Minimum 30% marks required to qualify.
  • Marks are not counted in the final merit list.

Paper II – General Studies

  • 100 Questions
  • 200 Marks
  • 2 Hours
  • Subjects include General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics, and Mental Ability.
  • Negative Marking: 0.2 marks for each incorrect answer.

Candidates up to 6 times the total vacancies will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) based on the marks obtained in Paper II.

Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The PET is qualifying in nature. Candidates must pass all physical events, including:

  • Running
  • High Jump
  • Long Jump
  • Shot Put

No marks are awarded for the PET.

Stage 4: Final Merit List

The final merit list is prepared only on the basis of Paper II (General Studies) marks.

  • Medical Examination
  • Character & Antecedent Verification

Final appointment will be made only after successful completion of both stages.
