Selection Process

The selection process for Haryana Prison Department Group C Posts (Advertisement No. 06/2026) consists of the following stages:

Stage 1: CET Qualification

  • Candidates must have qualified the Haryana CET Group C Exam conducted under Advertisement No. 01/2025.
  • Minimum qualifying marks:
    • General Category: 50%
    • Reserved Categories: 40%
  • Only CET-qualified candidates are eligible to apply for these posts.

Stage 2: Physical Tests (PMT & PST)

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CET merit and called for physical tests.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

  • Height and chest measurements will be checked as per the prescribed standards.
  • This stage is qualifying in nature.

Physical Screening Test (PST)

  • Candidates who qualify the PMT must appear for the PST.
  • The test includes running and other physical fitness requirements.
  • This stage is also qualifying in nature.

Stage 3: Written Examination

Candidates who qualify the physical tests will be eligible for the written examination.

  • Exam Type: Offline (OMR Based)
  • Total Questions: 100 MCQs
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 1 Hour 45 Minutes
  • Negative Marking: No
  • Important Note: One mark will be deducted if none of the five circles (including the fifth “un-attempted” option) is filled for a question.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

  • General Category: 50%
  • Reserved Categories: 40%

Stage 4: Final Merit & Document Verification

  • Final merit will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination and any applicable additional marks (such as NCC weightage for eligible candidates).
  • In case of a tie, preference will be given to:
    1. Older candidate by age.
    2. Candidate with higher CET marks if age is also the same.
  • Documents uploaded during the application process will be verified.
  • The final selected candidates will be recommended to the concerned department for appointment.
