Eligibility Details
- Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Fishery Science (B.F.Sc.) from a recognised University in India or abroad.
- Candidate must be able to read, write and speak Odia, proved through Middle School/Matriculation/Class-VII Odia language pass or an Odia test conducted by the School & Mass Education Department.
- A candidate with more than one living spouse is not eligible, unless exempted by the State Government.

Assistant Fisheries Officer Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
Selection will be made through a Written Examination followed by a Viva Voce (Interview). The total selection is out of 900 marks.
A. Written Examination – 800 Marks

- The exam will be Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions).
- There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
- The Commission will fix qualifying marks separately for each paper and category.
- Candidates who clear the qualifying marks in each paper will be called for Viva Voce, at about two times the number of vacancies in each category (minimum 5 candidates).
B. Viva Voce (Interview) – 100 Marks
The interview is a personality test carrying 100 marks.
Merit List
The final merit list is prepared by adding the marks of the Written Examination and the Viva Voce (total 900 marks).
Exam Centres
The written examination will be held at Cuttack, with Bhubaneswar as an additional centre if required. Candidates must choose their preferred exam zone while filling the online application.
