RRB NTPC UG 2025: Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
RRB NTPC 10+2 Under Graduate Level recruitment selects candidates through four stages – CBT I, CBT II, Typing Skill Test / CBAT (as applicable to the post) and Document Verification cum Medical Examination.
1st Stage CBT (CBT I) – Qualifying in Nature
- Total Questions: 100
- Total Marks: 100 (1 mark per question)
- Duration: 90 Minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates using a scribe)
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for every wrong answer, no deduction for unattempted questions
- Subjects: General Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning
- CBT I marks are used only for normalization and shortlisting to CBT II – not counted in final merit
2nd Stage CBT (CBT II)
- Total Questions: 120
- Total Marks: 120 (1 mark per question)
- Duration: 90 Minutes
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for every wrong answer
- Subjects: General Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning (higher difficulty level than CBT I)
- Marks of CBT II are included in the final merit list
Typing Skill Test / CBAT (Post-Wise, No Negative Marking)
- Applicable for Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist posts
- Typing speed required: 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi
- This is a qualifying stage and does not carry weightage in the final merit
Document Verification & Medical Examination
Candidates shortlisted based on final merit will be called for document verification followed by a medical fitness examination before final selection.
