Eligibility Details
- Educational Qualification: LLB degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks, along with a valid CLAT PG 2026 score (mandatory for all candidates). Candidate must also be eligible for registration as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India/State.
- Marital Status: Both male and female candidates must be unmarried, and must remain unmarried until completion of training at OTA.
- Character: Candidate must never have been arrested or convicted by a criminal court, and must never have been debarred by UPSC or withdrawn from any Defence Academy on disciplinary grounds.

JAG Entry Scheme: Salary Details
- Stipend During Training (OTA, Chennai): Rs. 56,100/- per month
- Starting Pay After Commissioning (Lieutenant, Level 10): Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500 plus Military Service Pay of Rs. 15,500/- per month

JAG Entry Scheme Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
Selection for the JAG Entry Scheme 125th Course is done in the following stages:
Stage 1: Shortlisting
Candidates are shortlisted for the SSB Interview based on their CLAT PG 2026 score and the vacancy-to-call-up ratio, tentatively in the second week of September 2026.
Stage 2: SSB Interview
- Held over up to 5 days at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar.
- Stage-I is a Screening Test; candidates who don’t clear it are returned on Day 1.
- Stage-II covers Psychological Tests, Group Testing, and Interview for those who clear Stage-I.
Stage 3: Medical Examination
Only SSB-recommended candidates undergo the medical examination, which remains valid for 270 days up to the date of joining training.
Stage 4: Merit List & Training
- Merit is based on marks obtained at the SSB Interview; ties are broken first by age (older ranked higher), then by percentage in the qualifying exam.
- Selected candidates join the 49-week training course at Officer Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, starting April 2027.
